REOPENING KENTUCKY
To ensure the health and safety of Kentucky families, Governor Beshear urges Kentuckians to remain Healthy at Home and follow the federal and state protocols for limiting the spread of COVID-19, which can be found at kycovid19.ky.gov. Everyone needs to do their part for themselves, their loved ones, and our community. We have a responsibility to ourselves and to each other to protect our state and our community.
Due to COVID-19, our Museum and Factory Tours have been temporarily suspended. Healthy at Work is a phased approach to reopen Kentucky's economy. It is based on criteria set by public health experts and advice from industry experts. Each phase will be rolled out in steps to ensure the Commonwealth's citizens can safely return to work while still protecting the most vulnerable Kentuckians.
On May 11, 2020, the Governor began reopening sectors of the economy that were closed due to COVID-19. (See Executive Order 2020-323 - Español) However, each entity reopening must meet certain Minimum Requirements in addition to industry specific guidance. If any entity in a sector being reopened cannot comply with the minimum requirements or industry-specific requirements, they must wait to reopen until they are able to do so or until some or all of these restrictions are lifted. Those entities deemed life-sustaining, which have remained operating, will be expected to meet the minimum requirements no later than May 11, 2020.

Minimum Requirements
- Enforce Social Distancing (six (6) feet or more)
- Universal face coverings
- Provide Adequate Hand Sanitizer and Encourage Hand Washing
- Ensure Proper Sanitation
- Conduct Daily Temperature/Health checks

Executive Orders
Reminder: People should be prepared for state and local public health orders to be extended, amended, or changed as needed to protect public health. This means we may move between the different Phases during this pandemic.
For those economic sectors not yet scheduled to reopen, the Governor encourages industry groups, trade associations, and individual businesses submit reopen proposals, discussing strategies and challenges they face in safely reopening. Your proposals will aid the Governor and the Department for Public Health in evaluating at what point different types of businesses may reopen safely. All proposals will be evaluated according to White House guidelines and other public health criteria. This step will ensure that Kentucky businesses are able to comply with public health protocols and CDC guidelines.

No business or business association is required to submit a proposal in order to reopen. Businesses that are currently open do not need to submit proposals to remain open, but must comply with new standards as set for their industries. Closed businesses or associations representing them are encouraged, but not required, to submit reopen proposals.
